DC Bound

Looking forward to spending the long weekend at home! Raina's treatments went well this week. Six down, twenty-four to go.

Heatwave

Philly skipped Spring and went right to Summer ... Hot!!! Raina and Mom in front of the Drexel Dragon on the way back from treatment number four.

Broken!

Surprised to learn his morning that something in the proton beam discombobulator was malfunctioning. Raina geared up to help fix, but apparently the repair jobs are only for the union. Anyway, they couldn't get it fixed so they decided to just send us home.

Home Sweet Temporary Home

We are now officially settled in the rental house in Philly. The car is unpacked and Raina has her own play area to rumble around in/on. This makes Mom and Dad very happy!

Raina wanted to let people know that she is available for chatting via FaceTime or Skype if any of her friends have such technology available. Email Mom or Dad if you need relevant contact info.

Adventures

Raina has been enjoying her time exploring Philly after treatments. She was even up for a trip to see Nicholas and Jess in Hoboken on Saturday. Here she is in Times Square getting scared half to death by Minnie Mouse.

Post-radiation

One treatment down, 29 or so to go.

Raina's appetite is back with a vengeance after radiation today. So far she's had water, apple/blueberry smoothie and BBQ chips. We are working on Chai and a scone right now.

Drinkin'

Raina's appetite is slowly coming back. We are having trouble getting her to drink anything but chai tea though. Really! Pedialyte, milk, juice, water, nutrition shakes, they all get rejected. I suppose there are worse problems to have given the circumstances!

Out for a Walk

Raina is still not feeling well but she smiled today for the first time in a week. Progress!

On the Comeback Trail

Raina is finally starting to feel better after a week long stay in the hospital. Here she is this afternoon inspecting mom's cinnamon scone after having a few bites.

Dad's Sign

Raina has a cold this week and is not permitted to leave her hospital room (to prevent her from getting other kiddies sick). The staff added signs outside her door, so did her dad.
