Pony!

Today was Western Day at school! Raina wore her overalls, bandana and lasso and had her pictures taken with a pony. Here's a shot Mom snapped...eventually we got some smiles from our little cowgirl.

Raina, Mom and Dad packed up and headed to NY for the Fiddler's Picnic. Raina met lots of people and stayed up way past her bed time. Fun stuff.

Mystery Solved!

Raina has been out of sorts the past few days. Trouble sleeping and lots of crying out during the day. She's usually a pretty happy baby. Mom investigated and found that Raina is pushing her first tooth through! Bottom right I think. Anyhow, we're fixing for a rough patch while this first one works its way in. Crossing fingers and toes that she keeps sleeping through most of the night.

Raina got a good nap today, which actually coincided with the World Cup Final in its entirety. I suppose if she's going to miss one, this wasn't a bad choice.

More Partying

Raina hung out with Ashlyn in the afternoon and went to see Grey for dinner Saturday... the life of a 5 month old!

Sweet Potaters!

Raina is now 5 months and half months old. We figure it's time to test drive solid foods on account of how she's always trying to steal scraps off Mom or Dad's plate. Here's visual evidence of how the first feeding (sweet potatoes) transpired on Friday.

Raina's First Run

Mom and little V went for their first run together in Georgetown Friday while Dad was stuck at work. Dad busted out early and got home just in time for a stroll around town with the fam and happy hour on 8th street.

Capitol Picnic

Mom was laid up with the flu or food poisoning or something yesterday but took Raina out to get some fresh air. She and Raina went for a stroll to the Capitol grounds and had a little picnic. Raina met a friendly squirrel and took a nap.

Raina is getting close to outgrowing her Tummy Tub. She's started jumping from a sitting position, and is getting close to tipping this contraption over. Makes Dad nervous but also creates some good photo ops. Here are some snaps from tonight's session....

Raina had particular trouble this week eating her rice cereal and staying clean. Actually we figure most of it ended up on her bib, the floor or Mom and Dad.

Daddy Daycare

Uncle Andrew was off today, home with Ashlyn. Dad took the day off and broke Raina out of school to hang out. When we planned this a few months ago, we envisioned lots of video games, a few beers and two perpetually napping babies. In hindsight this was a little naive. We ended up changing diapers, consoling, feeding and bouncing, among other things. Nary a video game was played, and all the beers remained snug in the refridgerator. Ah well, we'll try this again in a few months when Ashlyn and Raina can entertain themselves. Here's a pictures of Raina getting ready to go in the morning. Only slightly excited at the prospect of skipping out on daycare.

Dinner

We started giving Raina rice cereal a few weeks ago to get her used to the idea of solid, er, plasma based food. So far she's a huge fan. We put a spoon in one hand and she thinks she's doing all the work. Hilarious to watch this all transpire. Anyhow, here's a pic of Uncle Jon feeding Raina some rice cereal Sunday. We cooked steaks and potatoes, then watched AFV... wholesome evening.

Granny Get-Well

Mom, Dad and Raina went to see Grandma again this past week on account of how she had an unexpected hospital trip. Grandma is recovering quickly, everyone is relieved. Grandpa Terry will be waiting on her hand and foot (right, Grandpa?).

Raina enjoyed the pool again this trip and took some record naps in the Florida heat. We learned she is still not a fan of car rides. Like her Grandpa Jared I guess.
